Strange as it might sound, viruses might be one possible alternative to antibiotics for treating bacterial infections. Bacteriophages (also known as phages) are viruses that infect bacteria. They’re estimated to be the most abundant organisms on Earth, with probably more than 1031 bacteriophages on the planet. They can survive in many environments, including deep-sea trenches and the human gut. While phages are efficient killers of bacteria, they don’t infect human cells and are harmless to humans....

According to figures from UK EV charging infrastructure trackers Zap-Map, Scotland has the most free electric car chargers in the UK… and by a long stretch too. Think of it like this: Scotland has a population of about 5.5 million, the south east of England has a population of about 9 million. However, Scotland has about double the number of free electric charging devices than south east England. Of all 21,000 charging devices listed on Zap-Map, 4,900 are free to use, the company says....

Over the weekend, several people came forward on Twitter to describe incidents of harassment, assault, and coercion by Twitch streamers, YouTubers, eSports players, and other people in the gaming industry. A new study published by Freedom House — a Washington-based pro-democracy group — has also dealt a blow to social media as a whole as it finds it the main reason for declining internet freedom in the world. The research notes that freedom is under siege as some governments are weaponizing social networking platforms to manipulate elections, apply censorship, spread disinformation, and monitor its citizens. The report titled “Freedom on the Net 2019: The Crisis of Social Media” was published yesterday and included an analysis of 65 countries — including China, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Zimbabwe....

Now, it’s valued at over $4 billion. With this latest funding the firm has announced its metaverse plans — as one does in web3....
